here-elsewhere is a performance where space itself becomes a performer. The artists transform the room through live drawing, projection, and storytelling, creating a layered world that shifts between the seen and the imagined.
As we explore hidden corners and small details of the space - a scratch on the wall, a glint of light, a forgotten object - through magnifying and projecting them as living landscapes, new stories emerge. The performers respond, building a visual and emotional map of the room’s echo: strange, delicate, and deeply human.
Each performance is unique, shaped by the architecture, atmosphere, and presence of those watching, transforming overlooked spaces into vivid, imaginative worlds, where stories emerge not from a suggestion, but from the materiality of the room. Equal parts theatre, live art and visual improvisation, here-elsewhere invites audiences to rediscover the spaces they inhabit and the stories that live quietly within them.
Christianna and Roz, both visual artists with backgrounds in design and scenography, share a passion for the embedded history of spaces and their storytelling potential.
After meeting at IMPRO Amsterdam, their connection through improv, art, and design grew, and they began collaborating through weekly Zoom sessions. Their exploration focuses on the ephemeral nature of improv performance and impact of documenting it on perception and memory, as well as how spaces hold layers of history and transformation - echoes of past sounds, stories, identities - and their influence on performance.
They share a mutual love for intense, silent scenes that use body language to express emotion and bring abstract ideas to life. They’re fascinated by how stories emerge through connections with fellow performers.
This show, which was developed at the Theatre Ida 2025 Artists Residency, culminates their desire to integrate visual art and design with their improv, offering a deeper investigation of these concepts and their potential for storytelling.
